Advocate Cat is an antiparasitic indicated for the treatment and prevention of mixed infestations by internal and external parasites in cats and ferrets .

For cats weighing less than 4 kg.

Indications:

For Cats suffering from, or at risk of, mixed parasitic infections:

  • For the treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis),
  • the treatment of ear mite infestations (Otodectes cynotis),
  • the treatment of notoedric mange (Notoedres cati),
  • prevention of cardiopulmonary dirofilariasis (L3 and L4 larvae of Dirofilaria immitis),
  • the treatment of gastrointestinal nematode infections (L4 larvae, immature adults and adults of Toxocara cati and Ancylostoma tubaeforme). The veterinary medicinal product can be administered as part of a treatment strategy for flea allergy dermatitis (FAD).

For Ferrets suffering from, or at risk of, mixed parasitic infections:

  • For the treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis),
  • prevention of cardiopulmonary dirofilariasis (L3 and L4 larvae of Dirofilaria immitis).

Contraindications:

Do not administer to kittens under 9 weeks of age. Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients. Ferrets: Do not administer Advocate for large cats (0.8 ml) or Advocate for dogs (any presentation).

Dosage and route of administration:

The recommended minimum doses are 10 mg imidacloprid per kg body weight and 1.0 mg moxidectin per kg body weight, equivalent to 0.1 ml Advocate for cats per kg body weight. The treatment regimen should be based on the individual veterinary diagnosis and the local epidemiological situation. For external use only. Remove one pipette from the packaging. Then hold the pipette upright, twist and remove the cap. Replace the cap in the opposite direction and turn the cap to remove the seal from the pipette. Part the fur on the neck at the base of the animal's neck until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and squeeze the pipette firmly several times to empty the contents directly onto the skin. Applying to the base of the neck will minimise the possibility of the animal licking the product off. Apply only to undamaged skin.
