Equimax is indicated for the treatment of mixed infections in horses caused by nematodes and cestodes or arthropods due to adult and immature forms of gastrointestinal nematodes, pulmonary nematodes, gastrophiles and cestodes:

Large strongyles: Strongylus vulgaris (adults and arterial larval stages); Strongylus edentatus (adults and tissue larval stages L4); Strongylus equinus (adults); Triodontophorus spp (adults)

Small strongylids: Cyatostomids: Cylicocylus spp. ; Cylicostephanus spp.; Cylicodontophorus spp.; Gyalocephalus spp. (adults and non-inactive larval stages in mucous membranes)

Ascarids: Parascaris equorum (adults and larval stages).

Oxyurids: Oxyuris equi (larval stages).

Trichostrongylids: Trichostrongylus axei (adults).

Strongyloidides: Strongyloides westeri (adults).

Habronematids: Habronema spp (adults).

Neck filarids: Onchocerca spp. microfilaria ie cutaneous onchocerciasis.

Lung nematodes: Dictyocaulus arnfieldi (adults and larval stages)

Cestodes:Anoplocephala perfoliata; Anoplocephala magna; Paranoplocephala mamillana.

Diptera insects: Gasterophilus spp. (larval stages)

Active substances: Ivermectin and Praziquantel.

Target species: Horses.

Dosage and route of administration:

Single administration. 200 µg of ivermectin and 1.5 mg of praziquantel per kg of body weight, corresponding to 1.07 g of paste per 100 kg of body weight. To ensure a correct dose, body weight should be determined as accurately as possible. Adjustment of the dosing system should be checked, as underdosing can lead to an increased risk of developing resistance to anthelmintic drugs.
