modulis is a drug indicated for the treatment of chronic manifestations of atopic dermatitis in dogs. This is a type of allergic skin disease in dogs that is caused by allergens such as mites or pollen that stimulate an excessive immune response. Cyclosporine reduces the inflammation and itching associated with atopic dermatitis.

Active substance: Cyclosporine 100mg/ml

Cyclosporin (also known as cyclosporin A, CsA) is a selective immunosuppressant. Cyclosporine exerts anti-inflammatory and antipruritic activity in the treatment of atopic dermatitis.

Clinical symptoms of atopic dermatitis, such as itching and skin inflammation, are not specific for this disease. Other causes of dermatitis such as ectoparasite infestations, other allergies that cause dermatological symptoms (ie flea bite dermatitis or food allergy) or bacterial or fungal infections should be excluded before starting treatment. It is good practice to treat flea infestations before and during the treatment of atopic dermatitis.

Target species: dogs

Dosage and administration route:

For oral administration.

The average recommended dose of cyclosporine is 5 mg/kg body weight, corresponding to 0.5 ml solution per 10 kg body weight.

The product will initially be administered daily, until clinical improvement is satisfactory. Which will usually be within 4 weeks. If no response is achieved within the first eight weeks, treatment should be stopped. Once the clinical signs of atopic dermatitis are satisfactorily controlled, the product can then be administered every other day at a maintenance dose. The veterinarian should carry out a clinical evaluation regularly and adjust the frequency of administration with the clinical response obtained.
