Fortekor is a veterinary medicine indicated for the treatment of congestive heart failure in dogs and reduction of proteinuria associated with chronic renal failure in cats. The product reduces blood pressure and load volume in the heart of dogs with congestive heart failure. In cats with experimental renal impairment, the product normalized elevated glomerular arterial pressure and reduced systemic blood pressure.
Dosage and administration route:
The product should be administered orally once a day, with or without food. The duration of treatment is unlimited. The tablets are palatable and are usually taken voluntarily by most dogs and cats.
Dogs: The product should be administered orally at a minimum dose of 0.25 mg (range 0.25-0.5) benazepril hydrochloride/kg body weight once daily. The dose may be doubled, continuing to be administered once daily, at a minimum dose of 0.5 mg/kg (range 0.5-1.0), if considered clinically necessary and if the veterinarian advises. .
Cats: The product should be administered orally at a minimum dose of 0.5 mg (range 0.5-1.0) benazepril hydrochloride/kg body weight once daily.
