Nicotinell 14mg/24h is indicated for relieving symptoms of nicotine withdrawal, nicotine dependence and helping to stop smoking. Advice and help usually increase the success rate.

Active substances: 14mg/24h of nicotine.

Nicotine, the main alkaloid in tobacco products and a naturally occurring autonomous substance, is a nicotine receptor agonist in the central and peripheral nervous system. Nicotine has been shown to be addictive in tobacco consumption.

Dosage and method of administration:

Smokers must completely stop smoking during treatment with Nicotinell. Transdermal patches should also not be used simultaneously with another pharmaceutical form for nicotine replacement therapy, such as lozenges or gums, except under medical supervision. The Nicotinell transdermal patch is available in 3 strengths: 7mg/24h, 14mg/24h, which must be used according to the information in the package leaflet. The degree of nicotine dependence should be assessed by the number of cigarettes smoked daily or by the Fagerström test (test available in the package leaflet). Dosage of the transdermal patch should be tailored to the individual response, ie it should be increased if smoking cessation is not complete or withdrawal symptoms occur, and reduced if overdose is suspected. The duration of complete treatment is approximately 3 months, but may vary depending on individual response. The use of this medicine should not exceed 6 months unless authorized by the doctor. Nicotinell should not be used by smokers under the age of 18 without medical advice. There is no clinical experience in the treatment of adolescents under 18 years of age with Nicotinell. Method of administration: After opening the sachet, apply the patch to an area of dry, undamaged and little hairy skin (shoulder, hip, side of the arm, etc.). Renew the application every 24 hours in a different zone than the previous one. During handling, avoid contact with eyes and nose and wash hands after application.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance(s) or to any of the excipients. Non-smoker or occasional smoker

If in doubt or if symptoms persist, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
