Vibrocil Actilong Duo Nasal Spray 10ml

Vibrocil Actilong Duo it is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of nasal congestion and rhinorrhea associated with colds.

Active substances: 1 ml of solution contains 0.5 mg of xylometazoline hydrochloride and 0.6 mg of ipratropium bromide.

Xylometazoline hydrochloride is a sympathomimetic, which acts on α-adrenergic receptors. It has a vasoconstrictor effect. The effect is obtained 5 to 10 minutes after administration and is maintained for 6 to 8 hours. Ipratropium bromide is a quaternary ammonium compound with an anticholinergic effect. Nasal administration reduces nasal secretion through competitive inhibition of cholinergic receptors located in the nasal epithelium. The effect usually obtained 15 minutes after administration and is maintained for 6 hours.

Posology and method of administration:

Adults: One spray in each nostril up to 3 times a day. There should be an interval of at least 6 hours between two administrations. Before the first use, press the spray pump 4 times so that the solution enters the pump. When filled, the pump will remain charged during the period of regular daily use. If spraying does not occur when the pump is fully pressed, it must be refilled by pressing the pump 4 times as before the first use. The duration of treatment should not exceed 7 days, since chronic treatment with xylometazoline hydrochloride can cause edema of the nasal mucosa and hypersecretion due to increased sensitivity of the cells, a "rebound" effect (rhinitis). Children and adolescents under the age of 18: The use of Vibrocil ActilongDuo in children and adolescents under 18 is not recommended as there are insufficient data on the use of Vibrocil ActilongDuo in this age group.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.

According to the legislation in force, medicines not subject to medical prescription in Portugal can only be delivered in the municipalities of Maia, Gondomar, Matosinhos, Porto, Santo Tirso, Trofa, Valongo and Vila do Conde. This limitation does not apply to shipments to other Member States of the European Union.
