Voltaren 25 is a non-prescription medication indicated for the relief of acute pain episodes such as rheumatic and muscle pain, low back pain, headache, dental pain and primary dysmenorrhea. Symptomatic relief of colds and flu, including headaches, body aches, and sore throats. Antipyretic.

Active substances: Diclofenac 25mg.

Dosage and method of administration:

As a general recommendation, the lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest period of time necessary for symptom relief. In adults and children over the age of 14 years, initially 1 softgel, followed by 1 softgel every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 3 capsules (75 mg) per day. It should be used for short periods of time, up to 5 days for pain relief and up to 3 days as an antipyretic. Use for longer periods of time should be recommended by the physician. Soft capsules should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. For maximum effectiveness, it should be taken before meals. It is not recommended for children under 14 years of age.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Active intestinal or gastric ulcer, hemorrhage or perforation. History of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation related to previous NSAID therapy. Peptic ulcer/active bleeding or history of peptic ulcer/recurrent bleeding (two or more distinct episodes of ulceration or proven bleeding). Last trimester of pregnancy. Severe heart, liver or kidney failure. Established congestive heart failure (NYHA II-IV), ischemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, and/or cerebrovascular disease. Like other NSAIDs, diclofenac is also contraindicated in patients in whom attacks of asthma, urticaria, or acute rhinitis are precipitated by acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs.
