Apivar it is indicated for the treatment of Varroose (Varroa destructor) in colonies of honey bees.

Active Substance: Amitraz 500 mg

Amitraz is a synthetic substance, with acaricidal and insecticidal activity. Amitraz's mode of action is neurotoxic, like most other acaridics. The neuro-mediators most frequently affected by insecticides or acaricides are acetylcholine and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). The action of Amitraz occurs mainly by inhibiting another synaptic mediator, octopamine. This inhibition will translate into paralysis, which allows natural elimination (by simple gravity) to the outside environment.

Posology and route of administration:

For bee application.

Apply 2 bands per hive to the hives for at least 6 weeks (1 bar between 2 frames).
