Carporal it is indicated for dogs to reduce inflammation and pain caused by musculoskeletal disorders and degenerative joint disease. Following parenteral analgesia for postoperative pain control.

Active substance: Carprofen 40mg

Carprofen has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic activities. Like most other NSAIDs, carprofen is an inhibitor of the enzyme cyclooxygenase from the arachidonic acid cascade. However, the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis by carprofen is mild in relation to its anti-inflammatory and analgesic potency. The precise mode of action of carprofen is unclear.

Posology and route of administration:

For oral administration.

Administer 2 to 4 mg of carprofen per kg of body weight per day.

- To reduce inflammation and pain caused by musculoskeletal disorders and degenerative joint disease: an initial dose of 4 mg of carprofen per kg of body weight per day, administered in a single daily dose or in two equally divided doses may, depending on the clinical response , be reduced to 2 mg carprofen / kg body weight / day, given in a single dose. The duration of treatment depends on the response observed in the patient. The dog should be regularly examined by a veterinarian for treatments lasting more than 14 days.

- To prolong the analgesic and anti-inflammatory coverage in the postoperative period, carprofen tablets at a dose of 4 mg / kg body weight / day can be administered for a maximum period of 5 days after preoperative parenteral treatment with a injectable preparation of carprofen.
