Pulmicort Nasal Aqua 32mcg/dose Nasal Spray Suspension is indicated for the prevention and treatment of seasonal and perennial allergic or non-allergic allergic rhinitis in adults 18 years of age and older.

Active substance : Budesonide 0.64 mg/ml (32 micrograms/dose).

Dosage and method of administration:

The dosage should be individual and should be reduced to the minimum dose necessary to control symptoms. Rhinitis: Adults aged 18 years and over, including the elderly: The patient should be informed that the full effect of budesonide is only obtained after a few days of treatment. Treatment of seasonal rhinitis should, if possible, begin before exposure to allergens. The starting dose can be found in the package leaflet. Once the desired clinical effect has been achieved - usually within 1-2 weeks - the dose should be reduced to the lowest possible level to control symptoms. If symptoms are not controlled or persist for more than 2 weeks, you should seek medical advice. This medication should not be used continuously for more than 3 months without seeking medical advice. Before using this medicine for the first time, the applicator must be primed (loaded with the medicine). To do this, the vial must be shaken and the protective cap removed. The bottle should then be held in an upright position and the applicator pumped up and down several times (5-10 times) spraying into the air, until a uniform mist is seen. The effect of the drug remains for approximately 24 hours. If a longer period of time elapses before the next dose is used, the applicator must be reloaded with the medicine. This time, it is enough to spray just once in the air. The patient should be instructed to blow their nose before using this medicine. Then the vial has to be shaken and the protective cap has to be removed. The patient should insert the tip of the applicator into one nostril, keeping the vial vertically holding it with a finger on either side of the applicator. The applicator should be directed towards the side of the nose and away from the middle of the nose (nasal septum). The applicator must be pressed as many times as necessary depending on the dose required. The nasal spray suspension should then be administered into each nostril in the same manner. Note: it is not necessary to inhale while spraying. The applicator needs to be wiped with a clean tissue after use and the protective cap replaced. The bottle must be stored upright. Keep the applicator clean.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Untreated localized infection that affects the nasal mucosa. Age under 18 (unless prescribed by a doctor).

If in doubt or if symptoms persist, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
