Description

Amorolfine Mylan 50mg/ml Medicated Nail Polish is indicated for the treatment of onychomycosis caused by dermatophytes, yeasts and molds, without involving the nail matrix.

Active substance : 50mg of amorolfine.

Dosage and method of administration:

Nail polish should be applied to the affected fingernails or toenails once a week. In some cases, application twice a week may be beneficial. The patient should apply the nail varnish as follows: 1. Before the first application with Amorolfine Mylan , it is essential that the affected areas of the nail (in particular the surface of the nail) are filed away as much as possible using the file. provided in the package. The nail surface should be cleaned and then degreased using an alcohol pad. Before repeating the application with Amorolfine Mylan , the affected nails must be filed again and cleaned with an alcohol pad in order to remove any varnish residues. Caution: Files used on affected nails should not be used on healthy nails. 2. With one of the reusable spatulas provided, apply the varnish to the entire surface of the affected nail. The varnish should dry for 3-5 minutes. After application, clean the spatula with the cleaning pad previously used to clean the nail. Keep the bottle tightly closed. For each nail to be treated, dip the spatula into the varnish without cleaning it at the edge of the bottle. Attention: When the patient uses organic solvents (thinners or similar) it is essential to wear waterproof gloves in order to protect the varnish applied to the nails. Treatment should be continued without interruption until nail regeneration and healing of the affected areas. The duration and frequency of treatment essentially depend on the intensity and location of the infection. In general, it corresponds to six months for fingernails, and nine to twelve months for toenails. A reassessment of treatment should be performed at approximately 3-month intervals. Tinea pedis that can coexist should be treated with a suitable antifungal cream.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. It should not be reused by patients who have demonstrated hypersensitivity to the treatment.
