Quinodermil As 30mg/g+30mg/g Ointment is indicated for the treatment of interdigital mycoses; seborrheic dermatitis and hyperkeratoses, including corns and calluses.

Active substances: 30 mg of Clioquinol and 30 mg of Salicylic Acid.

Salicylic acid: its keratolytic action is attributed to the solubilization of the cellular cement of the stratum corneum. In concentrations of 1 to 4%, it has superficial keratolytic and epidermolytic effects, having been shown to facilitate the penetration and action of other active substances, as well as allowing the cleaning of crusty skin lesions. Clioquinol: antibacterial.

Dosage and method of administration:

Use in children under 2 years of age is not indicated and use in other pediatric patients should not be longer than 5 days. The dosage must be instituted by the doctor according to the needs of each case. Apply three times a day, until stabilization of the situation, then moving to twice a day. The treatment should not last longer than 2 weeks, except in situations duly controlled by the doctor, given the possibility of cutaneous absorption of Clioquinol (which can reach 40%) and Salicylic Acid (which in situations of excessive and prolonged use can lead to at high and even toxic rates of salicylemia).

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance(s) or to any of the excipients. In view of the risk of neurotoxicity associated with topical application of clioquinol in children (eg optic neuritis or sub-acute myelo-optic neuropathy) use in children under 2 years of age is contraindicated.

If in doubt or if symptoms persist, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
