Amflee Spot On Cats it is indicated for the treatment and prevention of infestations by fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.) and ticks (Dermacentor reticulatus, Ixodes ricinus) in cats.

The veterinary medicinal product has a persistent insecticidal efficacy up to 4 weeks against fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.) And an acaricidal efficacy up to 4 weeks against Ixodes ricinus and up to 1 week against Dermacentor reticulatus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus. If Rhipicephalus sanguineus ticks are present when the veterinary medicine is applied, they may not all be killed within the first 48 hours, but they can be killed within a week.

The veterinary medicine can be used as part of a treatment strategy for the control of Flea Bite Allergic Dermatitis (DAPP), when it has been previously diagnosed by the veterinarian.

Active substances: Fipronil 50 mg; butylhydroxyanisol (E320) 0.10 mg, Butylhydroxytoluene (E321) 0.05 mg.

Fipronil is an insecticide and an acaricide belonging to the phenylpyrazole family. It acts by inhibiting the GABA complex, binding to the chlorine channel and thus blocking the pre and post synaptic transfer of chlorine ions across cell membranes. This results in an uncontrolled activity of the central nervous system and the death of insects and mites.

Fipronil has an insecticidal and acaricidal activity against fleas (Ctenocephalides spp) and ticks (Rhipicephalus spp, Dermacentor spp, Ixodes spp including Ixodes ricinus) in cats.

Fleas will be killed in 24 hours. Ticks will be killed 48 hours after contact with fipronil, however if Rhipicephalus sanguineus ticks are present when the veterinary medicinal product is applied, they may not all be killed within 48 hours, but may be killed within a week.
