Seresto Coleira Gatos is indicated for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis) for 7 to 8 months. Protects the animal's surroundings against the development of flea larvae for 10 weeks. The veterinary medicinal product can be used as part of a treatment strategy for the control of Flea Allergic Dermatitis (FAD). The veterinary medicinal product has a persistent acaricidal (kills) (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus turanicus) and repellent (prevents feeding) efficacy against infestations by ticks (Ixodes ricinus) for 8 months. It is effective against larvae, nymphs and adult ticks. Ticks already present on the cat before treatment may not die within 48 hours of collar placement and may remain attached and visible. Therefore, it is recommended to remove ticks present on the cat at the time of placement. The prevention of new tick infestations begins within two days of collar placement.

Active substances : 1.25g of imidacloprid and 0.56g of flumethrin.

Imidacloprid kills adult fleas, flea larvae and lice (dogs only) - and flumethrin repels and kills larvae, nymphs and adult ticks. Together, imidacloprid and flumethrin have a significantly greater effect (called synergistic effect) on insects vs. what might be expected by summing the effectiveness of the two components individually.

Posology and route of administration:

Cutaneous use. One collar per animal that must be placed around the neck. For cats and small dogs up to 8 kg body weight, use a 38 cm long collar. Dogs weighing more than 8 kg use a collar for dogs > 8 kg of 70 cm in length. For external use only. Before use, remove the collar directly from the bag. Unroll the collar and check that there are no remnants of the plastic connection strips stuck to the inside of the collar. Adjust the collar around the animal's neck without tightening too much (as a guideline, enough slack should be left so that 2 fingers can fit between the neck and the collar). Pull the collar through the loop and cut the excess length leaving 2 cm after the loop. The collar must be worn continuously during the 8-month protection period and must be removed after the treatment period. Periodically check and adjust if necessary, especially when kittens/puppies are growing rapidly.
