Actea Oto it is indicated in dogs and cats as an adjunct to treatment actions and prophylaxis of external ear conditions characterized by itching, redness, changes in bacterial flora and fungi, associated with excessive ear wax production and bad smell.

Thanks to its calming, sanitizing and protective properties, Actea Oto can be used in all situations where the physiological conditions of the ear canal need to be restored.

Active principles: Lactoferricin, Glycerophosphoinositol lysine, Syringa vulgaris extract.

Actea Oto consists of a patented formula composed of a complex of three molecules, called LAS.

LAS (patent pending) consists of:

• Lactoferricin: Lactoferrin is a glycoprotein that is present in most exocrine secretions, such as milk, tears, nasal secretions, saliva, urine, uterine secretions and amniotic fluid. This glycoprotein has the property of binding to iron and is considered a molecule with an antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer effect and also with regulatory properties of the immune system. The derivatives of its digestion also give rise to other peptides that intervene in the immune function and in the neutralization of free radicals.

• Glycerophosphoinositol Lysine (GPI): Glycerophosphoinositol Lysine (GPI) is an ingredient derived from sunflower lecithin that is under a patent covering the molecule and its dermatological application. GPI is a semi-synthetic derivative of glycerophosphoinositol, a natural cellular component produced by lipid metabolism.

• Verbascoside (Dermasyn): Verbascoside obtained from Syringa vulgaris shows a strong anti-inflammatory activity, since it induces a decrease in the expression of the pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-8. In addition, it effectively inhibits the enzyme 5α-reductase, involved in the production of sebum, which also inhibits bacteria and other microorganisms, such as dermatophytes and fungi, which belong to the commensal flora of the skin, being residents and colonizers of the regions preferably with high production of tallow. The use of Syringa vulgaris in preparations for topical application is frequent, being recognized as an effective medicinal herb in accelerating the healing of wounds, revealing anti-inflammatory, antirheumatic, antipyretic and antifungal properties.

Posology and route of administration:

Apply 4 to 8 drops in each ear, depending on the size of the animal and repeat the application twice a day.

Gently massage the base of the ear so that the product is distributed inside the ear.

When using Actea Oto as a treatment aid, repeat the application for at least 10 consecutive days until the ear regains a normal appearance.
