The test strips contain:
- A yellow protective net, impregnated with a surfactant (field of application)
- A fiberglass coating that acts as a separating layer for blood cells
- A reaction film, in which color is formed
- A bar code on the back that is read by the meter to confirm the test strip identity, ie, if the test strip lot number matches the code in memory
Control:
The system automatically performs a check before applying the blood and before each measurement, by reading the barcode on the test strip and comparing the data in memory with that of the strip code.
