CoaguChek INRange is a device created by Roche Diagnostics for monitoring and adjusting dosage of oral anticoagulant therapy.

Each individual reacts differently to oral anticoagulant therapy. Stress, another medication such as painkillers or antibiotics, a diet rich in vitamin K (dark green leafy vegetables, legumes) or alcohol intake are factors that can interfere with oral anticoagulant therapy (medication based on vitamin K antagonists). Other adverse conditions such as feverish conditions or diarrhea can also have an impact on INR results. It is therefore essential to maintain tight control over the INR.

CoaguChek INRange is the new INR meter from Roche Diagnósticos, equipped with Bluetooth and USB technology.

It allows you to store, review and manage test results in several ways:

  • Store and review up to 400 test results, including comments and additional information;
  • Show results reports as graphs or tables directly on the device;
  • Transfer data to a computer for immediate evaluation, printing and export (integrated reports);
  • Transfer data to a USB or Bluetooth device for medical communication, for example, to a doctor or healthcare provider.l

Simple and Fast

It only takes four simple steps to obtain the INR result. CoaguChek® INRange is a simple and safe coagulation meter that, with a small drop of blood, gives results in just one minute. The strips can be stored at room temperature.

Safe and Accurate

CoaguChek® INRange uses a new technology based on electrochemical detection of prothrombin time. It also has quality control integrated in the test strip and internal automatic control functions.

Small and Comfortable

Hand-sized, the CoaguChek® INRange is a portable device that allows you to perform the test wherever and whenever you want.

Painless test

The CoaguChek® Softclix® capillary system and its lancet allow practically painless finger puncture. It is small, hygienic and safe. It allows the collection of the exact amount of blood necessary for the sample without having to resort to venous blood.

The accuracy of a device is measured by its coefficient of variation (CV), that is, the interval in which the results of different tests are registered on the same meter. The lower this range, the more accurate the meter is.
With regard to accuracy, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that, for acceptable accuracy, the ISI (International Sensitivity Index) value of the reagent to thromboplastin should be between 1.0 and 1.4. The higher the ISI value, the less reliable the INR results are. The closer to 1.0 it is, the greater the correlation with laboratory methods exists, that is, the closer to 1.0, the better.

The Coaguchek® system uses a reagent with a low ISI and a device with a low CV:
recombinant human thromboplastin has an ISI of 1.0, thus ensuring greater accuracy and in accordance with the recommendations of the WHO and the British Society of Hematology;
and has a coefficient of variation of 3.9%, a range of excellent accuracy.

Good precision combined with accuracy allows greater security in therapeutic decisions made and greater success of oral anticoagulant therapy.
