Dextux 2mg/ml Oral Solution 200ml

Dextux 2mg/ml Oral Solution is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of irritating and dry cough.

Active substance: 2 mg/ml dextromethorphan.

Dextromethorphan is a synthetic morphine derivative with central antitussive action. Increases the cough center stimulation threshold by inhibiting afferent stimuli. Dextromethorphan does not cause habituation or dependence.

Dosage and method of administration:

For administration to children over 6 years of age and adults. Use the measuring device included in the medicine package. Adults and young people over 12 years: - 5 to 10 ml of Dextux (corresponding to 10-20 mg of dextromethorphan hydrobromide) at 4-hour intervals or - 15 ml of Dextux (corresponding to 30 mg of dextromethorphan hydrobromide) ) at 6-8 hour intervals. The maximum daily dose is 60 ml of Dextux which corresponds to 120 mg of dextromethorphan hydrobromide. Children from 6 to 12 years: 2.5 to 5 ml of Dextux at 4-hour intervals. The maximum daily dose is 30 ml of Dextux which corresponds to 60 mg of dextromethorphan hydrobromide. In case of self-medication, administration should be limited to 3 to 5 days. The duration of treatment should not exceed 2-3 weeks, even with medical advice.
