Lactulose Sandoz 670mg/ml Oral Solution 200ml
Non-prescription medicine indicated in the treatment of habitual chronic constipation.
Lactulose Sandoz 670mg/ml Syrup is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of constipation.
Active substances: Lactulose.
In the colon, lactulose is broken down into low molecular weight organic acids. These acids lead to a reduction in the pH in the colonic lumen and, due to an osmotic effect, to an increase in the volume of the colon contents. These effects stimulate colonic peristalsis, normalizing stool consistency. Constipation disappears, and the physiological rhythm of the colon is re-established.
Dosage and method of administration:
The dose of Lactulose Sandoz should be swallowed all at once and should not be kept in the mouth for a long time. The dose of Lactulose Sandoz should be adjusted according to the individual needs of the patient. In the case of a single daily dose, it should always be taken at the same time, eg. during breakfast. During treatment with laxatives, it is recommended to drink enough fluids (1.5 - 2 liters, equivalent to 6 - 8 glasses) during the day. Dose in constipation or clinical situations where soft stools are required: Lactulose can be administered as a single daily dose or divided into two doses using the measuring cup. Check the starting and maintenance dose in the package leaflet. After a few days, the initial dose can be adjusted to the maintenance dose, according to the response to treatment. It may take several days (2-3 days) of treatment for regular bowel movements. Dose in pre-coma and hepatic coma (adults only): Starting dose: 30-45 ml, 3 to 4 times a day. This dose can be adjusted to the maintenance dose so that soft stools are produced 2 to 3 times a day.
Contraindications:
