Ben-u-ron is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of clinical situations that require an analgesic and/or an antipyretic, such as:

  • Symptoms associated with flu-like conditions;
  • Fever (lasting less than 3 days);
  • Hyperergic reactions to vaccination;
  • Mild to moderate headaches;
  • Migraines with prior medical diagnosis, of mild to moderate intensity;
  • Mild to moderate toothache;
  • Otalgias of mild to moderate intensity;
  • Dysmenorrhea of mild to moderate intensity;
  • Traumatic, muscular and joint pain, of mild to moderate intensity.

Active substance: 500mg of paracetamol.

Paracetamol has pharmacological properties of proven efficacy as an analgesic and antipyretic, although it demonstrates a weak anti-inflammatory effect.

Dosage and method of administration:

The recommended dose of Ben-u-ron depends on the patient's age and body weight. Ben-u-ron 500 mg suppositories are intended for rectal administration in adults (including the elderly) and children aged 12 years and over. Administration may be repeated at intervals of 6 to 8 hours. If necessary, the interval can be at least 4 hours, and should not exceed 6 suppositories daily. The maximum daily dose of paracetamol should not exceed 3 g/day. Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is a frequent component of several combination medications. This fact must be taken into account so as not to exceed the maximum daily dose.

Pediatric population: Ben-u-ron 500 mg suppositories should not be used in children under 12 years of age and with a body weight of less than 40 kg. Other forms of presentation that contain more adequate amounts of paracetamol are available for these patients.

Read the information leaflet carefully and if you have any doubts or symptoms persist, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
