Brufen Sugar Free 20 mg/ml oral suspension 200ml

Brufen Sugar Free is used for the short-term symptomatic treatment of:

Mild to moderate pain such as toothache, headache. Fever of different etiologies.

Active substances: 20mg/ml ibuprofen.

Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) derived from propionic acid with anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects, presumably acting by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase which results in a marked reduction in prostaglandin synthesis. These properties provide relief from symptoms of inflammation, pain and fever.

Posology and method of administration:

Brufen Sugar Free is not recommended for children under 3 months of age or weighing less than 5 kg as there is insufficient data to support its use in this age group. Oral administration is only intended for short-term treatments. If it is necessary to administer this medicine to children more than 3 days, or if symptoms worsen, consult a doctor. The maximum recommended daily dose is 20 mg-30 mg/kg body weight/day divided into 3 to 4 administrations. The interval between doses should be at least 6 hours.

- From 3 to 6 months (weight> 5Kg): 5 mg/Kg - 3 times a day

- From 6 months to 1 year: 2.5 ml (50 mg) – 3 times a day.

- Children aged 1 to 2 years: 2.5 ml (50 mg) – 3 to 4 times a day.

- Children aged 3 to 7 years: 5 ml (100 mg) – 3 to 4 times a day.

- Children aged 8 to 12 years: 10 ml (200 mg) –3 to 4 times a day.

Adults: Although other dosage forms of ibuprofen 200 mg, 400 mg or 600 mg are generally used for adults, when swallowing is difficult, Brufen Sugar Free can be administered at a dose of 15 ml (300 mg) - 4 times a day. Brufen Sugar Free is given orally, preferably after meals. Sugar Free Brufen may cause a transient burning sensation in the mouth or throat; Shake the bottle well before use.

According to current legislation, medicines not subject to a prescription in Portugal can only be delivered in the municipalities of Maia, Gondomar, Matosinhos, Porto, Santo Tirso, Trofa, Valongo and Vila do Conde. This limitation does not apply to shipments to other Member States of the European Union.
