Biafine Skin Emulsion 100ml

Biafine is indicated for solar erythema, 1st degree burns and non-infected superficial skin wounds.

Active substances: Each 100.0 g of emulsion contains 0.670 g of Trolamine.

Trolamine acts as an emulsifying agent when used with fatty acids such as stearic acid. After skin application, it provides occlusive and moisturizing properties and increases the movement of macrophages to the wound site, facilitating healing at the skin level and stimulating the formation of granulation tissue.

Dosage and method of administration:

Solar erythema: Biafine should be applied at the first signs of redness in a thick layer, every ten minutes until it is rejected by the skin, and the last applied layer must be forced into the skin by gentle massage. Continue to apply Biafine as previously described, 2 to 4 times a day, until the affected area heals completely. 1st degree burns: Apply in a thick layer until the skin refuses. Make it penetrate with a light massage. Continue to apply Biafine as previously described, 2 to 4 times a day, until the affected area heals completely. After cleaning the lesion, apply in a thick layer, far exceeding the surface of the lesion and renew applications in order to always maintain a surplus of emulsion on the lesion. Cover if necessary with a moistened compress and finish the dressing. Do not use dry absorbent pads. Reapply Biafine as described above every 24 to 48 hours until the wound or lesion heals completely. Biafine can be removed by washing with a saline solution or clean water without causing damage to the newly formed tissues. 

According to current legislation, medicines not subject to a medical prescription, in Portugal, can only be delivered in the municipalities of Maia, Gondomar, Matosinhos, Porto, Santo Tirso, Trofa, Valongo and Vila do Conde. This limitation does not apply to shipments to other Member States of the European Union.
