Octiset is a non-prescription aqueous antiseptic for skin, wounds and mucous membranes. Contains octenidine which has a broad spectrum of antiseptic activity. It is effective against bacteria including chlamydia and mycoplasmas, fungi and yeasts, protozoa (trichomonas), viruses (Herpes simplex, HBV, HCV and HIV).

Active substance: 1ml of solution contains 1mg of octenidine dihydrochloride and 20mg of phenoxyethanol.

Dosage and method of administration:

The solution is for topical use only and should not be applied by pressing on tissues, such as using a syringe. Unless otherwise indicated, it must be applied on the area to be treated, ensuring a complete distribution of the product. Alternatively it can be sprayed on the target area. Carefully rub the area to be treated with at least 2 compresses soaked in the solution, one after the other, ensuring complete distribution of the product. Alternatively, it can also be sprayed on hard-to-reach skin surfaces. However, application with compresses is preferable. In all cases, after application, a contact time of at least 1 to 2 minutes must be verified before performing other procedures, such as before applying surgical dressings. It can be used to wash the oral cavity in cases where the entire oral cavity needs to be treated. For this, 20 ml must be used for a period of 20 seconds. The product should be sprayed on the affected area in the morning and at night in adjuvant therapy in cases of interdigital mycosis. These procedures must be carefully followed in order to obtain the desired effect. So far there is only experience of continuous use up to 14 days, it should be used for a short period of time.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients. It should not be used to wash the abdominal cavity (eg intraoperatively), the bladder and the tympanic membrane.

If in doubt or if symptoms persist, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
